Indiana Immunization Coalition

Vaccine Clinnic Intern

I kept patient records accurate and up to date, checked insurance eligibility, and made sure all information was properly documented in the clinic system. I reviewed immunization records to see which vaccines were needed and shared clear recommendations with patients. I also helped support community mobile vaccine clinics and assisted with office tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly and efficiently.

Academic Connections

My class in Influencing Public Health helped me a lot during my internship with the Indiana Immunization Coalition. In class, I learned how public health workers use education, communication, and policies to improve health in the community. During my internship, I saw this in real life when I helped with reviewing immunization records and supporting vaccine outreach efforts.

This course helped me understand why it is important to share clear and correct information about vaccines. It also showed me how communication can influence people to make better health decisions and stay up to date with their immunizations.

From my internship, I also learned that real public health work is more fast-paced than what we see in class. Sometimes you have to quickly and handle different situations at once.
